Eligibility

  • The official eligibility table permits FCNR(B) accounts for NRIs, PIOs and OCIs.
  • A close resident relative may be the second holder only on the stated former-or-survivor basis, with the non-resident as first holder.
  • The account is not permitted for the foreign-national categories marked ineligible in SBI's reviewed table.

Passing a listed condition does not mean the bank will approve an application.
