Priority-sector late-payment chargeFor eligible priority-sector SHG loans, overdue-payment charge bands are: sanctioned amount below ₹50,000, nil; above ₹50,000 but below ₹2 lakh, 1% p.a. on the amount of default; above ₹2 lakh, 2% p.a. on the amount of default. The ₹50,000 threshold applies per member, not to the group. Charges apply only while dues remain unpaid past the due date, are calculated monthly for the actual default period, and are capped at 4% p.a. of outstanding credit facilities; no charge is added on earlier penal charges.Effective 1 Apr 2026View source
The schedule publishes strict less-than/greater-than amount bands and states that the ₹50,000 threshold for eligible / priority loans is per member, not per group. Because the printed bands do not state how exact ₹50,000 and ₹2 lakh amounts are bracketed, those boundaries are not inferred. Apply only if the sanctioned loan is an eligible priority-sector loan.
